Wait, what?? Our culture places value in superficial places and continues to give women the message that they do not measure up. We know our outer “worth” is incorrectly emphasized but what about the pressure placed on our ability to perform and achieve? Research shows that women feel an increasing need to be all things to all people in an image-driven society. The result isn’t more accomplishment and increased focus but more anxiety, more depression and lower self-worth. Breaking down the word IMAGE gives us the chance to center ourselves on what matters and to ascribe value where it rightfully belongs. We don’t have to continually push to do more, to be more.
